Royal Continental – Hotel Naples – November 22nd – 23rd. For years operators working on addiction have shown the necessity of an educational path, which could really satisfy their operational and management needs, where their active and direct participation could represent the most important element for a concrete and culturally shared growth. The evolution of drug use and the increase of behavioural addiction without drugs represent a new clinical and therapeutic challenge for health operators, who have to face not only new aspects of addiction, such as gambling and psychostimulant drugs abuse among teenagers, but must also consider new therapeutic strategies, for example the introduction of new medicines for heroin addiction and the innovative treatments for hepatitis. Considering these new evidences, our Scientific Society must provide specialists all the innovative tools which will allow them to face the variety of these new clinical manifestations proactively and timely.
Not less important is the analysis of historical settings, which should consider both therapeutic tools and management strategies. With the aim of adapting the operator’s expertise to the complexity and the speed of social health environment, it is also fundamental the acquisition, monitoring and evaluation of new organizational models, to optimize all the resources, not only economic. For these reasons, in its first National Congress, S.I.Pa.D. has built an educational training programme, which is considered a first step for a qualitative and organizational improvement in Italian addiction services and interventions. This improvement is considered a mean of reinforcement of daily applied specialist activities.
Considering this, the Congress will include only a series of panel discussions, which will focus on many scientific topics, whose contents will be created by all the observations, questions and needs of experts interviewed by a survey sent to them before the Congress itself. The survey will provide concrete elements of discussion, encouraging debates between experts and specialists. The aim of the Congress is also to allow experts to share aspects, considerations and new opportunities, considering their real necessities, and promoting correct information and a professional multidisciplinary update, which will come from a free and constructive contribution of those who will provide their professionalism, experience and collaboration.
